TESTING THE IMPACT PRECISION MEDIUM NBK ACTION IN NEW ZEALAND

Impact Precision has came out with a true medium length action!!The new Impact Precision NBK action has been tested heavily in the field all over the world and the results have been outstanding!

WHY A MEDIUM LENGTH ACTION ?

There are several reasons to select a medium lengthImpact Precision NBK action. Let’s touch on a few reasons. 

a. Weight savings (Ounces add up fast in the backcountry)

b. Feeding High BC bullets in a Short action can be challenging. The Factory hornady ammunition in 6.5 PRC is a great example of a a cartridge that fills up a short action magazine and can be finicky to feed in the field. having a slightly longer magazine is a win for fixing this issue. Also hand loaders can take advantage of seating their bullets out longer to help get the bullet above the neck shoulder junction on many chamberings such as the (300 WSM, 7 WSM, 7 RSAUM, 6.7 Powerstorke, 6.5X284, etc). 

c. cheek weld….Often overlooked, having a great cheek weld is extremely valuable in having not only consistent accuracy and but a solid cheek weld helps manage recoil and stay on target to make solid shot corrections if needed. How does this apply to having g a medium length action? Even veteran long range shooters flinch while running a bolt fast on a magnum cartridge in a light weight rifle. On a long action the back of that bolt almost hits your cheek bone. The medium gives a little extra space for a feel of comfort and you can run a bolt smoother and stay on target to make the most accurate and ethical shots possible for that trophy of a lifetime. 

IMPACT NBK MEDIUM LENGTH ACTION. How did it do in field testing. 

To date we have taken antelope out to 960 yards, trophy whitetails all over the US, several animals in the mountains of New Zealand, and tons of pigs in the south. Day in and day out (nighttime too) The Impact Precision action has never failed. I am taking an Impact precision medium action chambered in 300 Wsm to the Mackenzie Mountains this August and we will continue to torcher test this action and continue to put trophies on the wall!!
